Henry Che-Chuen Yuen (Chinese: 袁子春) was born on April 7, 1948, in Shanghai, China. He is a founder and former CEO of Gemstar-TV Guide International. He earned a PhD in applied mathematics from Caltech. He worked briefly at Caltech and New York University before receiving a law degree from Loyola Law School.

Yuen started Gemstar in 1986. He was known for aggressively defending the company's patents, which led some to call him a "patent terrorist." Others compared him to "the Bill Gates of TV" because he negotiated a settlement with Microsoft that included payments for each device sold and advertising revenue from Microsoft's WebTV and Ultimate TV set-top boxes. In 2001, Yuen said, "In business, the only rules that exist are the ones you make."

After merging Gemstar with TV Guide, Yuen created business plans that were difficult to understand and unrelated to the media industry. In 2003, he was fired from Gemstar after the company discovered that he and others had illegally manipulated financial records. In 2006, he was found guilty of securities fraud and ordered to pay $22 million in penalties. As of April 25, 2007, his current location was unknown.
