Bantwal Ramakrishna "Bob" Rau (1951 – December 10, 2002) was a computer engineer and HP Fellow. He helped start a company called Cydrome. There, he worked on creating a type of computer technology called very long instruction word (VLIW), which is now used in many modern computer processors.

In 2002, he received the Eckert–Mauchly Award. The IEEE Computer Society created an award named after him, called the "B. Ramakrishna Rau Award." People who have won this award in the past have made important contributions to the field of microarchitecture.
