AFL career

In 2024, Murray joined his first AFL team when Adelaide selected him with the seventh pick in the mid-season draft for young players, allowing him to reunite with his older brother, Nick. Before the 2026 season, Murray partnered with Lachlan McAndrew as a ruck player, following the AFL's updated ruck rules. It was announced that Murray would play his first AFL game in the opening match of the season against Collingwood.
