Ulrich Schmid-Maybach is a person who helps others, builds real estate, and starts businesses. He is the great-grandson of Wilhelm Maybach and the grandson of Karl Maybach. When Daimler AG brought back the Maybach brand of very expensive cars, Schmid-Maybach was chosen as the brand ambassador. Because Wilhelm Maybach was mentored by Gottlieb Daimler, Schmid-Maybach created the Wilhelm and Karl Maybach Foundation to "give very talented young people the opportunity to make a difference." He lives in San Francisco, but his work and his role with the Foundation mean he travels often.
