Alex Snoeren teaches computer science at the University of California, San Diego. He completed his studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1997.

In 2018, Snoeren was chosen as an ACM Fellow for developing new ways to measure, manage, and find network traffic. In 2019, he was selected as an IEEE Fellow for helping to manage and protect networked systems.
