Ilya Mikhailovich Mironov (Russian: Илья Михайлович Миронов) was born on April 17, 2001. He is a Russian pair skater who competed with his past partner, Diana Mukhametzianova. Together, they were awarded silver medals at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. They also earned silver medals at the 2019–2020 Junior Grand Prix Final.

Career

Mironov started learning to skate in 2005. He competed in international competitions as a single skater in the junior category from the 2014–15 season to the 2017–18 season. After that, he switched to pairs skating and partnered with Diana Mukhametzianova. During their first two seasons together, Mukhametzianova and Mironov only competed in domestic events and placed sixth at the 2019 Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships.

Mukhametzianova and Mironov made their first appearance in international junior competitions at the 2019 JGP Russia. They placed third at the event, behind fellow Russian teams Kseniia Akhanteva/Valerii Kolesov and Iuliia Artemeva/Mikhail Nazarychev. At their next competition, the 2019 JGP Croatia, they placed second, again behind Artemeva/Nazarychev. With 24 qualifying points, they earned a spot to the 2019–20 Junior Grand Prix Final. Before the Final, the pair won a silver medal at the 2019 Volvo Open Cup in the junior event, finishing behind Apollinariia Panfilova/Dmitry Rylov.

At the 2019–20 Junior Grand Prix Final, Mukhametzianova and Mironov performed two strong programs and won the silver medal, finishing behind Panfilova/Rylov. They won the free skate portion of the competition but could not fully close the gap created by the gold medalists in the short program. At the event, the pair set personal bests in every part of the competition.

Although they qualified, Mukhametzianova and Mironov chose not to compete in the 2020 Russian Figure Skating Championships due to fatigue from the Junior Grand Prix Final. They next competed at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, where they finished second behind Panfilova/Rylov. At the 2020 Russian Junior Figure Skating Championships, Mukhametzianova and Mironov placed fourth and narrowly missed being selected for the 2020 World Junior Figure Skating Championships.
