She was among the first to study how to protect personal information in network data. She teaches computer science at Boston University.

Education and career

Raskhodnikova earned her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003. Her dissertation, Property Testing: Theory and Applications, was guided by Michael Sipser.

After completing postdoctoral work at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Weizmann Institute of Science, Raskhodnikova became a faculty member at Pennsylvania State University in 2007. She moved to Boston University in 2017.

Other activities

When she was a student at MIT, Raskhodnikova took part in ballroom dancing competitions. She helped organize TCS Women, a group for women who study theoretical computer science.
